Christine Hughes Interior Design began in San Francisco in June of 2004. Christine attended Centre College where she received a BA in Studio Art and Economics. She earned her degree in Art with a focus on Painting and Sculpture, working under world renowned glass artist, Stephen Rolfe Powell. She has studied architecture at Auburn University as well as in an overseas program in Strausbourg, France.

Upon completing her undergraduate degrees, Christine worked in finance for a regional bank and investment firm, but soon realized her passion was in a more creative field. With her art and business background she went on to hold a management and then interior design position with Bittners Inc. (at both offices in Louisville and Cinicinnati) for several years. Moving to San Francisco in 2002, she worked for long established fabric house, Scalamandre and then as an interior designer at Martha Angus Inc.

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Christine combines southern influence, classic sensibilities, and modern elements to provide each client a truly unique experience. Her knowledge and love of art and architecture play a pivotal role in the interior spaces she creates. She has built a far reaching network of art, antique, rug and furniture dealers to provide clients unparalleled access to resources. The scope of her projects varies greatly, but the underlying mission is always the same: An unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. She consistently works to create interiors that embody everything a client knows they love and importantly to expose them to the unexpected, ending in a more wonderful space than ever imagined.

Christine has been working out of Chicago for her own firm since 2005.  She had recently moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan but continues to have a office in Chicago and will be continuing to take on projects all over the country.
